Honolulu Pearl accept members year around. All you need to do is to show up at our practices and introduce yourself. You can try the club and paddling several times to see if you enjoy it. We do recommend though starting earlier in the season (January through February) as the practices picks up speed very fast and as the season progresses, the practices gets more intense.
Nevertheless, Hawaiian outrigger canoe paddling is a fantastic exercise and one of the greatest sport you can enjoy in Hawaii. We invite you to come and enjoy it with Honolulu Pearl.
Honolulu Pearl is open to anyone. Due to our location; we have many members from the military. Although this gives an impression that Honolulu Pearl is a military club, in reality we accept anyone and you do not need to be associated to the federal government. If you have any questions regarding membership, please send us a message by emailing us directly at email@example.com.

How is Membership Dues Used?
Honolulu Pearl is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization. All member fees and proceeds from fund raising events eventually comes back to paddlers and the community as benefits and services. Membership fee includes HCRA (Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association) and OHCRA (Oahu Canoe Racing Association) fees which covers insurance, registration, member card and regatta race fees. Membership dues also go to the maintenance and repair of HPCC equipment and facilities, use of equipment, trailering fees, and administrative costs. A portion of each members dues will go into a koa fund to maintain our club’s koa canoe, Honaunau. There are also additional charges for travel costs for long distance / state races, cost of entry, travel, food, drinks and escort boats for distance races.
